The Idle Rocks in St Mawes will reopen for 2020 on February 12, with new head chef Dorian Janmaat championing a new local menu.
The 19-bedroom Relais & Chateaux hotel, which is owned by David and Karen Richards, announced the appointment of Janmaat in November to replace Guy Owen.
He will officially start his new position in February.
He joins following eight years at Raymond Blanc’s two Michelin-star restaurant, Le Manoir aux Quat‘Saisons, where he was head chef for the past three years.
Three new packages have also been designed to welcome guests to experience a staycation in Cornwall and sample the flavours from the newly created à la carte menu.
David Richards adds: “We believe that there is a real appetite for food produced from the finest local ingredients, and in Cornwall we have the finest produce anywhere. We are excited to have the brilliance of Dorian in our kitchen who can turn them into incredible dishes for our guests.”
