The life and work of David Bowie inspires new Hotel Café Royal cocktail bar

The life and work of iconic music star David Bowie have inspired the new cocktail bar inside London’s Hotel Café Royal.

Ziggy’s, which is situated next to the hotel’s new restaurant Laurent, pays homage to the late icon, who was a famous guest to Hotel Café Royal in the 1970s, with a selection of drinks and ‘cocktails with a twist’ inspired by some of his greatest hits.

The new menu has been curated by the hotel’s bars and beverages manager, Fabio Spinetti, formerly of The Connaught, with tipples named after Bowie’s acclaimed album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, with each drink designed after a lyric from the record.

The bar also features a selection of photography of Bowie by Mick Rock, who was the musician’s official photographer during the last years of Ziggy Stardust.

The bar will launch on 20 September, and will be open Monday-Saturday from 5pm-1am.
