The Nare in Cornwall has been awarded five stars by The AA.
The family-owned hotel, which is part of Pride of Britain Hotels, comprises 37 bedrooms and suites and has been the highest rated hotel in Cornwall for the last three decades.
Hotel proprietor Toby Ashworth said that securing the five-star status had been a ‘rigorous process over two years’ with standards increasing every year in the past two decades under his ownership.
General manager, Matthew Voyle said that the new accreditation will help bring a boost in international visitors to The Nare, and be crucial in attracting further guests from the US.
The Nare also celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
Ashworth comments: “I am very proud that The Nare has been recognised as the first AA 5 star hotel in Cornwall. Achieving 5 stars has been a rigorous process over two years. There has been a steady increase in quality standards over the last 20 years. The Nare’s hallmark of traditional hospitality offers guests a standard of comfort and service that most hotels simply do not provide.”
Robert Martin, AA South West area manager, comments: “The Nare has continued to strive for top quality and comfort for the last 3 decades being one of Cornwall’s strongest establishments.”
The Nare, which is situated on the Roseland Peninsula in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, was reopened in 1989 by Bettye Gray, and since then has been considered to be the first luxury hotel in Cornwall.
