The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa, St Andrews is undergoing a major expansion project, which will see its bedrooms, conference facilities and outdoor space updated.

The hotel, which is owned by Kohler Co, is investing in increasing its bedroom capacity, expanding conference facilities, a new events space entrance to include a reception area, outdoor landscaping and adding car parking spaces including electric charging points.

Work started in January 2020 with completion expected in early 2021.

General manager Helen McBride says: “We are excited about the project and are eager to progress the construction work. This renovation will involve a big improvement to our meetings and conference spaces and extra course-facing rooms which will allow us to ‘wow’ more guests with that incredible view of the Old Course and West Sands beach.”

The project comes following an extension and refurbishment that was completed in 2018 to the hotel’s Kohler Waters Spa and Fitness Centre.

A few months prior to this, the hotel also refurbished a number of bedrooms and replaced the roof of the main building with one made of recycled car tyres to deflect stray golf balls from the adjacent Old Course.

The five-red-star hotel currently features 144 rooms including 35 suites, six restaurants/bars, The Duke’s golf course and Kohler Waters Spa and Fitness Centre.
