The Pig is hoping music that help bring a smile to people’s faces during the coronavirus crisis, by introducing a dedicated playlist that is now available to download.

The Pig, owned and operated by Robin and Judy Hutson of Home Grown Hotels, has created its own ‘self-isolation’ playlist to give people a ‘slice of six rural outposts’ from the comfort of their own homes.

The songs reflect what would usually be played in any of The Pigs, from the properties in Bath to Kent, and aim to help ‘keep spirits up’ for anyone feeling isolated or fed up.

The first seven song titles of the playlist are all a nod to the current situation we find ourselves in from Reasons to be cheerful by The Blockheads to I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to be Free by Nina Simone plus How Long by Paul Carrack and Waiting in Vain by Bob Marley.

The playlist also features previous Smoked & Uncut headliners such as Sister Sledge, The Vaccines, Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight.

Tunes can be found via The Pig website – visit https://www.thepighotel.com/almanac/introducing-the-pig-self-isolation-playlist/

Earlier this month, BH reported how the opening of the seventh Pig and the first in Cornwall, was to be delayed due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19.
