The Pig has kicked off a recruitment drive to fill a number of roles at its newest venture in Canterbury, which is due to open in May 2019.
The Pig at Bridge Place is part of a £30m expansion plan from parent company, Home Grown Hotels, headed up by Robin Hutson, with the new hotel one of three new additions due to launch over the next 18 months.
The 17th manor house hotel, three miles south of Canterbury, has been transformed from the former Bridge Place Country Club into a new traditionally ‘Piggy’ hotel with 28 bedrooms, retaining a host of period features such as large fireplaces, secret stairways and panelled rooms.
The interior design has been spearheaded by Judy Hutson.
Now the group is getting ready to host an open day as it looks to fill a number of positions at the new property.
Chefs, kitchen staff and waiting roles will all be available at The Pig at Bridge Place, with the open day pegged for February 5.
All positions are expected to start in April, with the venue officially opening a month later.
The advert reads: “It has been over two years since our last Pig opening, we are very excited to now start recruiting for many of our roles at The Pig at Bridge Place.
“Please note chef and kitchen roles will be open in the coming weeks. We will open the doors to our guests in May 2019! All positions are anticipated to start in April, with dates to be confirmed.
“We will be holding an open day on February 5 for candidates who want to know more about us or are unsure of what role they may be interested in. Please keep an eye on our website for the details and location of this.”
There are currently five Pig hotels; The Pig, the Pig-near Bath, the Pig-on the Beach; the Pig-at Combe and the Pig-in the Wall.
The Pig-at Bridge Place will open in May 2019; The Pig-at Harlyn Bay will open in winter 2019 and The Pig-on the South Downs will open in spring 2020.
