The Swan at Lavenham is responding to consumer demand to provide more healthy options by launching its own ‘spa take’ on the traditional afternoon tea.
The hotel’s Weavers’ House Spa will offer guests a Tea-Tox, which is a handpicked selection of healthy, raw and gluten-free options from the hotel’s award-winning pastry chef Anmar Odendal.
Priced at £19.50 per person, the tea includes more traditional options such as finger sandwiches consisting of smoked salmon and crème fraîche, maple roasted Suffolk ham and egg and mayonnaise, among others, all with gluten-free options.
Then the healthy treats include peanut butter and chia seed bites, sweet potato brownies and fresh fruit skewers.
“I wanted to create a health conscious afternoon tea, with superfood ingredients”, said Odendal. “Now people are quitting gluten and working on the inside out, eating clean doesn’t mean you can’t have a little of what you fancy.”
The Tea-Tox is served in The Swan at Lavenham’s Weavers’ House Spa, to be taken to the outdoor terrace or in the relaxation suite.
