The UK’s most dog-friendly hotels revealed at PetsPyjamas Awards 2018

12 hotels, inns and holiday homes across the country have been recognised as having the most accommodating approach to pampering pooches, at the 2018 Dog-Friendly Travel Awards.

The awards, which are the creation of the hospitality division at pet booking site, PetsPyjamas, recognises properties offering the friendliest welcome, the most luxury and the best location for walks among others, with the likes of New Park Manor, Another Place, The Lake and Soar Mill Cove Hotel scooping accolades.

PetsPyjamas was launched in 2012 by the founders of toptable.com, Europe’s number one restaurant booker, and has been championing to improve since the launch of its dog-friendly holiday division in 2014.

Best Unique Stay

Woodfarm Barges, Suffolk.

The Black Swan at Helmsley, North Yorkshire.

Best European Destination

Abbaye de la Bussiere, Dijon, France.

Top Resident Dog

Charingworth Manor, North Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.

The awards were judged on: 1. Super dog-loving atmosphere and staff at all times; 2. Three or more dog-friendly rooms available to book; 3. Doggy access to some of the property’s communal areas and the ability to dine with their owners – a special pet menu is a bonus; 4. Dog facilities and provisions such as a bed, bowls and treats in the dog-friendly hotel room or cottage; 5. Nearby dog-friendly attractions such as a fabulous doggy walks or a dog-friendly beach.
