The Varsity Hotel & Spa in Cambridge has unveiled a £2m refurbishment of its 44 bedrooms as it looks to evolve business.

The hotel on Thompson’s Lane in the city has invested in a complete redesign of its bedrooms to give each one its own ‘individual character’ and introduced a range of new technology products to help meet demand.

The project started in September 2018.

The bedrooms now boast herringbone wood flooring, handmade rugs and patterned wallpaper from Designers Guild and Colefax and Fowler, as well as a sandstone or marble bathroom with underfloor heating and monsoon showers.

The signature corner suite has floor to ceiling glass with panoramic views across Cambridge.

Each bedroom has also been equipped with in-room tablets and international power supply sockets.

Roberto Pintus, general manager of The Varsity Hotel & Spa, says: “We are extremely pleased to have completed a £2m refurbishment of our 44 guest rooms. The new design reflects the heart of the hotel and represents our constant desire to ensure that all guests have the best experience possible.”

The Varsity Hotel & Spa opened in 2010 from university graduate Will Davies.
