He takes over from Tourism Society board director Mike Bugsgang, who has been acting as interim chief executive whilst a permanent replacement for the job was recruited.

Brown’s expertise in strategic planning and passion for managing process change and business recovery programmes will be ‘invaluable’ in his new role.

Commenting on the appointment, Tourism Society chairman, Kevin Kaley, said: “Having Keith on board with his wealth of experience in the tourism sector will be hugely beneficial to the Society. His input on the implementation of our new strategy and operational model will make a considerable difference as we move forward.”

The Tourism Society celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017 and provides opportunities for individuals from across all sectors of the Visitor Economy to come together (online and offline) for discussion, debate, to share views and knowledge and to network.
