TripAdvisor has partnered with brands and influencers to launch a new social-driven strategy, which shows consumers specific content and allows them to save and share recommendations.
Travellers will now have access to videos, photos, articles and guides from friends and family, as well as from over a thousand brands, publishers, and influencers.
Stephen Kaufer, CEO of Tripadvisor, said: “The new TripAdvisor provides its members with great content from the people, brands and influencers they rely on for travel and in-destination advice before and during their trip.”
The current brands and influencers include; The Independent, National Geographic, Time Out, Culture Trip, The Saccone-Jolys and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
Olivia Ralston, vice president of business development of Culture Trip, said: “We have already started seeing TripAdvisor users following us and engaging with our immersive articles, videos and photos.”
Members can now also create and access ‘Trips’, which is a collaborative way to privately plan and share ideas with friends and family. Trips can also be made public and shared with the community.
Kaufer said: “This is just the beginning for TripAdvisor as we continue to work with the community to build the best experience for travellers worldwide. In the coming weeks, we will welcome more brands and influencers to the travel feed and will allow members to upload and share videos and articles.”
