The UK’s top two room attendants have been named at the annual Room Attendant of the Year Award 2018.
Scooping the top accolade was Tad Janeczek of Chilston Park Hotel, who beat off stiff competition from a total of six finalists working at properties around the country to be crowned the overall winner.
He said that working as a room attendant was ‘an amazing career’ and making his guests feel welcome was something he thoroughly enjoyed.
Janeczek received his award from Mitre Linen National Account Manager Anthony Goldcrown.
Runner up for the award was Anna Lupton of Carr House Farm B&B. She said: “It’s really important to me that our guests have a fantastic experience when they stay here and I like to ensure that the rooms are perfect. If I can offer something a little extra to make their stay even better, then that’s what I will do.”
Janeczek received a £1,000 cash prize and Chilston Park Hotel will get a £1,500 room makeover as a result of his win, while Lupton received £500 and Carr House Farm B&B wins £750 to spend with Mitre Linen on a room refurbishment.
