Village Hotel Club Portsmouth to launch in November after £21m project

Village Hotel Club Portsmouth is set to welcome its first guests on Monday 6 November, following a huge £21m investment into the transformation of the property.

The new hotel, which sits in the largest business park in Portsmouth Lakeside North Harbour, will be home to 153 bedrooms, Village Gym, business centre, and a Village Pub.

Each room is fitted with the Amazon Echo Dot and guests can check in via the Village Hotel app or online.

Once open next month, the hotel will be the brand’s 29th Village Hotel.

The Village Gym is kitted out with equipment from Technogym and will host more than 100 classes a week. The gym is home to a 20-metre swimming pool and steam room and sauna.

Pedro Mendes, general manager of Village Hotel Club Portsmouth, said: “Our technology solutions, the most advanced for any new hotel in the South, are about enhancing the customer experience. We want to create a place where people want to come and spend the day whether it’s to dine out, stay, work out or play. The hotel will be a thriving hub, every day of the week, for local residents, gym members, the business community, holidaymakers with passengers using the city’s international ferry port, and guests for weddings, events and our popular live tribute acts.”

Others Village Hotels in the south are located at Bournemouth, Farnborough and Maidstone; work has now begun on the group’s 30th property in Bristol.

Village Hotels is aiming to double its portfolio within five years.
