The rise in demand for the wide variety of weddings offered at Gisborough Hall has resulted in the recruitment of a new staff member to strengthen the team.
The hotel, which went independent for the first time in April 2017, has appointed Lindsey Watson to come on board as a wedding coordinator, joining Gisborough’s six-strong wedding and events team.
She brings with her a wealth of experience with stints at another country house hotel in Yorkshire, as well as in sales and customer service for AXA Insurance and Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
Gisborough Hall has been reinforcing its wedding and events’ team since it became a fully-independent and self-managed hotel last April. As well as its traditional style weddings, the hotel also offers more unusual themes including Royal, Afternoon Tea and Asian weddings.
Ruairidh Taylor, hotel manager, said: “Lindsey brings with her a wealth of varied experience that will further enhance our team. It’s a very important time for us as we develop what we offer across Gisborough Hall as we continue to grow as a family-run venue.”
In April, Gisborough Hall became a fully-independent hotel for the first time since it opened in 2002 and, in the same month, an AA inspection rated Gisborough Hall as one of the top destinations in the North East and North Yorkshire.
Gisborough Hall dates back to 1857 and the grade II-listed country house was fully restored in 2002.
The country hall employs a team of 105 local people across the hotel, and this will increase further in the coming year with the creation of a new multi-million-pound spa which it’s hoped will be open by Christmas 2019.
