The Tawny in Staffordshire was announced as the winner of the Boutique Hotel of the Year category at the Boutique Hotelier Awards 2024 last night.
The award, which saw eight finalists battle it out, celebrates a property that has demonstrated innovation and resilience across the last 12 months, working to improve facilities, retain and attract valuable staff and grow their businesses.
The Boutique Hotel of the Year award was sponsored by Silentnight and was presented by David Lawrenson, sales director.
Over the past 12 months, The Tawny has invested in training its people, made huge strides in its sustainability efforts and overhauled its F&B offering, leading to an increase in consumer spend.
Finalists in the hotly contested category included:
- Heckfield Place, Hampshire
- Matfen Hall Hotel, Northumberland
- Ellenborough Park Hotel, Cheltenham
- Twr y Felin Hotel, Wales
- Glenapp Castle, Ayrshire
- The Coniston, Skipton
- Beaverbrook, Surrey
The Boutique Hotelier Awards 2024 took place on October 15, the evening of the first night of The Independent Hotel Show, at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London.
The glittering ceremony saw close to 300 hoteliers from across the UK gather to hear the much-anticipated results, representing properties from London to the Lake District.
Guests were treated to a sparkling wine reception and a three-course meal, before settling down for the awards presentation.
There were 15 award categories on the night, including a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
