Wyboston Lakes funnels £3m investment into rejuvenating conference facilities

Bedfordshire-based Wyboston Lakes Resort has reaffirmed its focus on offering premium conference facilities with a bumper investment.

The UK’s largest privately-owned single site conference and leisure venue, located on 380 acres between Cambridge and Milton Keynes, has announced its plans to spend over £3m on its premium conference venue.

The additional £3m of funding takes the total investment in the resort to over £10m in the last few years and is part of the long term continued reinvestment strategy.

This purpose-built residential conference venue offers meeting and event facilities with a spectrum of residential and non-residential events.

Management at the venue hope the investment will bring added flexibility, creative flare, outdoor space, inspirational meeting areas, including the latest tech and a conference room large enough to host events for up to 300 delegates.

Steve Jones, operations director at Wyboston Lakes, commented: “The investment into our premium conference venue signifies our long term plans for this venue by investing in it to give us a competitive advantage and preparing it for the next 10 years of business.

“In the coming decade we must appeal to the millennial and Gen Y market to ensure we remain competitive and keep winning business. These new bookers and delegates seek out unique experiences, put an emphasis on technology, look for quality and memorable touches as well as local accent’s such as regional dishes on the menus and the provenance of the food being clearly identifiable. These elements have been included within the overall design and are a key requirement for us as we roll out this project.”
