Yorkshire tops the poll for the most popular place for a pub stay


Yorkshire is the place most desired by people who are looking to stay in a country pub, according to accommodation website Stay In A Pub.

Yorkshire is home to 15 out of 20 of the site’s most viewed pubs in the country and pubs here occupy the top six spots, with the north of the country being particularly popular.

Additionally, pub stays have continued to grow in popularity as an alternative choice of destination in the UK, with a 30% increase in those visiting the Stay In A Pub website over the summer, and with women (56%) searching more than men (44%).

Formed in 2013, Stay In A Pub is ranked number one on Google for pub accommodation and currently lists 1640 pubs with accommodation on its site.

Commenting, Paul Nunny, director, Stay In A Pub, said: “We have seen a significant increase in the numbers looking to book pub stays aided by our recent website revamp, which allows customers to find pubs to suit their specific needs, hobbies or place of interest seamlessly, and by our continued strategic partnerships with Visit Britain, Visit England, and more recently, Visit Wales and Visit Scotland.”
