Jamie and his wife Jenna bought Rothay Manor in 2016 and after a year of running the business embarked on a major refurbishment programme of the public areas and every one of the 19 guest bedrooms.
The final piece in the refurbishment programme was the complete redesign of the 40-cover restaurant, which has just been completed. Alongside that head chef Dam McGeorge has made huge inroads in the kitchens taking the restaurant to a 3 AA Red Rosette restaurant.
Jamie and Jenna have a clear vision of the direction in which they wanted to take Rothay Manor and they have invested in that journey.
Jamie and Jenna inspire their team to be the best that they can possibly be they invest in their training and development and firmly encourage them to develop their skills at every turn. For example every member of the restaurant team and the kitchen team has undertaken WSET level 1 to enable them to gain a full insight into the wines within the hotel’s list and overall knowledge of pairing wines with food.
