Hard on the heels of its most recent opening in Piccadilly, London earlier this month, Z Hotels is set to roll out the brand in Glasgow next month.
The newest property – the first hotel from the Z Hotels group outside England – is believed to have been bought for around £700,000. It has had an investment of several million pounds – the group spent over £8m on its first two properties in London – and was partly funded by the government’s Business Premises Renovation Allowance scheme which is designed to stimulate development in deprived areas by renovating buildings that were previously used as offices.
Centrally located near Glasgow’s George Square in a building that was formerly home to well-known pub, it will have 104 bedrooms and the signature Z hotels food and beverage offering. The hotel does not offer room service.
The Piccadilly hotel is the group’s third in the capital and will be joined by a fourth, in Shoreditch next year.
