Boutique Hotelier hosted The Great GM Debate 2023 on 23 May, bringing this dynamic live event to London for the second year in a row .
The afternoon saw hoteliers representing a wide range of properties across the country, from boutique country houses to 200-room operations, come together to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the UK hotel industry right now.
The event included four panel sessions made up of Boutique Hotelier senior editor Zoe Monk and editor Eamonn Crowe as moderators, alongside a changing line-up of hotel general managers, CEOs and owners.
Topics tackled on the day ranged from sleep tourism to changing guest expectations and the engaged audience was given the chance to have their say during a 15 minute question and answer session following each panel.
The panels on the day were as follows:
- ‘Sleep Saviours: How to ensure your guests get a good night’s rest’ – sponsored by Silentnight
- ‘Conversion Champions: How to tell a story through your website and convert this into bookings’ – sponsored by Net Affinity and Trybe
- ‘Compliant, Not Creepy: How effective use of data can improve the guest experience’ – sponsored by High Level Software and Profitroom
- ‘Great Expectations: What modern guests require from a hotel room’ – sponsored by Airwave and Roomnet
After the serious part of the afternoon was over, guests were treated to free-flowing drinks during a ‘Power Hour’ networking session.
If you missed out on the action, don’t worry too much as The Great GM Debate will be returning for 2024.
