Firmdale Hotels has announced the promotion of Charlotte Crampton Smith to the position of general manager at Number Sixteen Hotel in London.

Crampton Smith has been with Firmdale for the entirety of her 11 year hospitality career and in her new role, she will oversee all aspects of the South Kensington Hotel, which boasts 41 individually designed bedrooms and a private garden.

She first joined Firmdale in 2011 as an intern trainee at Crosby Street Hotel and has since grown her career across seven of the brand’s hotels, moving from receptionist and front of house manager to operations manager.

Most recently, Crampton Smith served as deputy general manager at Haymarket Hotel, located in the capital’s theatre district.

In an announcement on LinkedIn, Firmdale described Crampton Smith as ‘a passionate, generous, and naturally warm leader.’

The post continued: “Charlotte is known for creating thoughtful, memorable guest experiences, brought to life through her dedication and unmistakable charm. We’re excited to see her continue her Firmdale journey at our townhouse hotel in London’s South Kensington, where her leadership, vision and spirit will undoubtedly flourish.”
