The Bannatyne Group sells Charlton House Hotel to Singaporean real estate company

Knight Frank has completed the sale of Charlton House Hotel & Spa, on behalf of the Bannatyne Group.

The Hotel and Spa has been sold to Singaporean real estate development company, KOP Limited, through its subsidiary Kop Properties (UK).

The Bannatyne Group, owned by former Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne, originally purchased the property in 2010.

The hotel comprises 28 bedrooms, restaurant and bar, events venue, gym and spa and situated near Shepton Mallet, Somerset, on the edge of Somerset Mendips and is located between Bristol and Exeter.

Charlton House Hotel has been converted from a 17th century country house.

Matthew Smith, Partner, hotel agency at Knight Frank, commented: “We are delighted to have concluded the sale of Charlton House Hotel & Spa to KOP Limited, which will allow the Singaporean group to broaden its operations in the hotel sector, and marks the group’s re-entry into the UK market.
